Corn Recipes-Corn Pone Recipe
Ingredients: Corn Pone Recipe

  • 1 pint cornmeal
  • 1¼ cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Method:
  1. Dissolve the sugar and salt in the water; work the butter into the cornmeal, then add the boiling water; cover and stand ten minutes; shape into oblong cakes two and one-half inches long.
  2. Bake in a quick oven twenty to thirty minutes.
Corn Recipes- Stewed Corn
Ingredients:
  • 4 Or 6 cobs of corn
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  1. Draw a sharp knife down the center of each row ofcorn; press out the pulp with the back of the knife. To each pint, add 1/2 ts each salt and
    sugar, dash of pepper and 1/2 c milk. Heat and simmer 10 minutes.
Corn Recipes- Corn Pudding
Recipe
  • 1 can cream style corn
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 8 oz. carton sour cream
  • 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 small box jiffy cornbread mix, or
  • 1 cup cornbread mix, any kind
  • 1 cup grated cheese, optional
Method:
  • Mix thoroughly and pour into a greased or Pam sprayed 9 x 13 baking dish.

  • Bake at 350° F. for 30-40 minutes or until light brown.

  • Serves 10-12
